What is a quest?

Ever play a video game? Well if you have, there are usually all about "quests". Essentially quests are small steps to land the ultimate prize. In this case, it is landing your dream career.

We have created Quests to take the guess work out of "what to do next" in your career journey. Let's dive in on how this actually works:

Quests are tasks that CareerOS automatically creates for you based on your activity.

Quests will always give you the next step with companies, contacts, or jobs.

How do I complete a quest

You can click on the arrow you will see at the right side of the quest to complete it!

What happens if I don't complete a quest? 

Nothing! These are just recommendations to avoid you to get lost in your job search journey. We highly recommend our users to follow them, and those users who do it usually have great results, however, if you prefer to organize yourself in other ways, you can ignore them.

I want to delete a quest/ I have completed a quest and it still appears

If you want a quest to stop showing, you can always mark it as done, and it will automatically disappear. To mark a quest as done, you can click on the top right corner on the quest, in the check button (☑️).

Types of quests

We have several types of quests based on your activity. Let's do a quick dive into all the categories of quests you can get: 

Install the CareerOS Chrome Extension

You will get this quest when you first start using CareerOS if you haven't installed our extension yet. Read this article if you want to learn how to install and use our Chrome Extension.

Save your first company

Once you start using CareerOS, you will get this quest to remind you to save your first company. You can learn how to save a company in this article.

Save a contact at [Recently Saved Company]

After saving a company in CareerOS, you will get this quest. To complete it, you should save a contact from the company you just saved. Discover how to save a contact in this article.

Send a LinkedIn invitation to [Contact Name] at [Company]

Once saved a contact from a certain company, you will see this quest in your home page to remind you to send a LinkedIn Invitation to that contact. You can do it by clicking on the contact's profile.

Send a LinkedIn message to [Contact Name] at [Company]

After sending the LinkedIn invitation, you will get this quest as a reminder to reach out this person through LinkedIn. You can learn more about how to send LinkedIn messages in CareerOS here.

Schedule a coffee chat with [Contact Name] at [Company]

A few days after reaching out to that contact, you will get this quest to remind you to schedule a coffee chat with this person.

Save your first job

You will get this quest to remind you to start saving jobs from your top companies. Learn how to save jobs in this article.

Submit your application for [role name] at [company name]

After saving a job to CareerOS, you will get this quest as a reminder to submit your job application to that certain job offer before the deadline.
